Step-by-Step Instructions
Here are more specific instructions about how to use Citation Maker.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Click on the resource (source type) you want to cite.
- Complete the template form with information from your source.
- When you are done filling out the form, click "Create Citation Below." Your citations will appear below the template in the dotted box.
- Continue this process for each of your sources.
- You may enter multiple citations without losing the previous ones.
- When you
have entered all of your citations, you can sort them into alphabetical order by clicking
on "Sort All."
- Before you exit Citation Maker, be sure to print your work or copy & paste it into a word processing document that you save. Before you copy & paste, click on "Copy All."
- Once you paste your work into your own document, correct these things:
- Double space the entire list, both between citations and within them.
- Make sure that when a citation is more than one line long, you indent the extra lines. This is called a hanging indent.
- If a citation does not begin with an author's last name, it can be sorted wrong. Rearrange the citations to get them in correct alphabetical order as necessary.
